My bestest friend ever came to see me tonight (we have been friends since like 1st grade)! I was so surprised as I forgot (which I feel terrible) when she was coming. I havent ever got to personally see her daughter, Kendall, since they live in North Carolina (only in pictures). She is adorable and was so glad to get to see them. She is such a cutie-patootie w/her big brown eyes, long eyelashes and dimples. I just want to be her long-lost aunt and smooch those cheeks! I just hope that she doesnt turn out as silly as her mother! Sherry used to get me into so much trouble….I even got sent to the principal’s office for something she told me to do and I was so naive I did it – remember the bus incident, Sherry?

Kendall Came for a Visit!!
It’s Glue Time!
Angie and I had craft day and JW was making a picture for me. As you can tell there wasnt much coloring on the page. He had a blast using the glue stick i gave him! He said it smelled yummy and was trying to put it on his lips (like chapstick). He cracks me up! When he started the glue stick was full….hmm, guess I will find the remnants of the rest of the glue later. I think the rest may have ended up under the table!

Because I did all these deals my OOP costs were higher (this was my first Walgreens experience too). My total was $65.60 and my rebates will equal $63.89 so i spent a TOTAL $1.71 OOP
I think my bill should have been less as the lady at the counter messed up my coupons. oh-well I still feel like i did pretty well.***As a side note, I returned to Walgreens tonight with my receipt and the manager said the lady didnt ring me up correctly and totally agreed with the discounts I should have received. He was so nice and refunded me $14.35 so I actually did make more overage than I thought.***
CVS Savings – 08/26/08

Ready For School!
We had such a wonderful 1st week of school. The boys are loving their days with their friends and new teachers. They are up early every morning rearing to go!
This year seems like it will go smoother with less of a homework load for Logan. Last year was tough because they were doing 5th grade level math in 4th grade! We would spend at least an hour on homework every night so it made for short evenings. He made high honors the entire year so all the hard work paid off!
Jacob is doing well too. His body is trying to adjust to an “all day” schedule. I’ve noticed that he’s getting very tired. He plays so hard at school all day and then comes home and plays even harder and then crashes of exhaustion or frustration. Hopefully he will manage to get some sleep this weekend to get caught up.

Flash Is Ready For School!
Last night we had a very special night for Jacob. Gramma Patterson came to the rescue again and encouraged J to ride his bike without his training wheels (She had to do this for Logan also!). We tried early in the summer to convince him he could ride without them but he wasnt ready yet. So with grammies encouragement he decided last night was it! Yeah. Many of you that have toddlers know it isnt very easy to ride down sidewalks and streets with training wheels on for a family bike ride. He’d hit bumps, cracks and small hills and would topple over and sometimes really wipe out! So, our bike rides havent been that long. They usually mean us riding a couple blocks and then returning home. Jacob asked if we could take a family bike ride tonight so we will see how long and far we are able to ride!
Hope you all have a Great weekend!
Want to send extra special wishes to my nephew, Colby, who is turning 4 tomorrow and will be celebrating his b-day in virginia where he lives. He is having his party at the zoo with his family and friends. I hope you have a wonderful time with grandpa! Happy Birthday! Luv and Miss You!

August 15, 2008 ~First Day of School
Today was a very exciting day for the boys who woke up especially early! It’s the first day of school! We walked over to school and had to wait until the doors open with much anticipation! We took Jacob to his class first and found his desk. When all our supplies were put away we gave our hugs and kisses. I then walked Logan to his class. His teacher seems really nice and Logan was glad to see some of his friends in his class too. Of course, no kisses from him~he’s just too big for that now. I wished his teacher a happy 1st day of school. I then walked back to the homestead and couldnt help but cry until I reached the doorsteps. I heard Flash (our dog) absolutely howling and whining until I opened the door. I think he knew too that the boys were gone for the day and we were two sad saps together! Fortunately, my sis-in-law, angie, came and picked me up and we went for a nice walk along one of the greenways here in town. Later in the afternoon my mom stopped in and she had me go shopping with her for a little bit. whew~nice to get outta the house so I dont feel sad!
My hubby emailed me to say that “dont be sad, the school will give them back!” ha, ha.
After school the boys had so much to tell me. First, that Jacob thought lunch was absolutely spectacular as they had stuffed crust pizza! (he was so looking forward to being there for lunch!) They both thought they’d really like there teachers and had a great first day. They also said that recess was the best part of the day.
Gladly, we all made it through our first day back to school! Yeah!!
August 14, 2008 – Logan’s 11th Birthday!
I cannot believe Logan is 11 yrs. old today! He is such a wonderful boy and has such a heart for God and helping others. We had a wonderful party at Kelly Park. All the family was there. Logan’s favorite part of his party was his birthday cake which was a homemade dark chocolate cheesecake and homemade chocolate ice cream!
HAPPY 11TH BIRTHDAY LOGAN!!
Last Play Time Before School Starts
Summer has come to an end for these boys (Drew, Austin, JW, Logan & Jacob). Back to school in 2 days. whew, it went by so fast. We had a really fun summer and hate to see it come to an end. Here are a few more pics of the fun we with our cousins.
What Do You Daydream About?
Do you ever daydream about some place you’d like to go or something you’d like to do? Logan’s dream is to visit Hawaii’s volcanoes and see the active lava flowing. Jacob’s dream is to go back to Cali and visit the big pool where we used to live.
My dream is to visit Tuscany and Paris. Shawn daydreams about cars.
This picture was taken today on the way to Toys R Us to pick up birthday presents for Logan. His 11th b-day is on Thursday, August 14th. He picked out some Mars Mission Lego sets which brought back memories of when I was little. I remember playing for hours building my little lego house daydreaming about decorating it and how awesome it would be when it was finished. Legos are just about the coolest toy because it forces my boys and most kids to dream big and build cool stuff using their imagination. well, nowadays they come with some instructions booklets but for the most part you can build whatever floats your boat. What Do You Daydream About?
