Mommy and My Boy’s

It was a beautiful day here today!  I had breakfast with Logan outside on the patio this morning and left daddy to sleep in a little while.  Jacob spent the night at a friends house so it was just me and Logan.  the birds were chirping happily so I knew it would be a great day.  Logan was headed to Indiana Beach today with his friend.  I was kinda nervous having him so far from home and grilled him on every  “what-if” question I could think of.  I think sometimes I am over protective of my boys…..I guess that’s why God made me a mom!  I am wondering if other moms are as crazy as I am?

I had to work until 2pm so that left my hubby home to do some much needed “handyman” work.  When I got home he had rebuilt our back gate, fixed the front gate, fixed the side gate and put up a new fence in the back.  I am so glad that God made him a hands-on type o’guy!

Shawn took us for a return trip to Lowe’s tonight and swung through walmart to let Jacob spend his allowance.  Daddy is a sucker for cool kid stuff and Jake came home with some kinda voice changing Storm Trooper Mask that was totally over his “allowance” amount.  I told him he owed his dad a Big thank you and that he’d have to work off some of the extra daddy let him borrow.  Jake thought he was big stuff though walking around the back yard after we got back home with his mask (which is almost too big for his body to lug around) and his Storm Trooper gun.  (ok, so my husband just tells me that it’s really called a “clone trooper” whatever!)  (also, some of you might be surprised that i let me 6 year old play with guns but i tell ya the minute my boys were born they were shooting me with whatever they could find….pee when they were little, graduating to sticks, and now star wars toys, etc.  you just have to get over it~they are boys.  I just keep telling myself that they will stand up against evil and prevail if God needs them to! )

All was well when Logan came home tonight and looked liked he’d had a fun day.  he got just a little sunburt under his eyes and was tired.  He said they spent most of the day in the water park and it was totally awesome! He’s not ready for summer to end……2 weeks until school starts~Aug. 15 which is the day after his birthday.  poor thing, what a terrible b-day present!
