Tuesday, August 5 – Did You Hear The Storm?

man, the lightning was crazy last night and we had a tornado warning for the county. I dont like spending time in the basement at midnight! For some reason our sirens do not go off. they havent gone off the past 3 storms we’ve had. I have called the sherriff’s dept. but their response is that it’s the deputy-on-duty’s decision as to whether or not sound the sirens. ok, so most of you that know me know that pry wasnt what chopper becky wanted to hear!
This morning when I signed the boys up for school I discussed the issue with the principal and he said he was going to call the city and do something about it. cool! He said he couldnt believe they werent sounded them here and they were in other parts of the county. He wondered if something just needed fixed with the siren itself.
At sign-up the boys were very excited to know they got the teacher they both had wanted! yeah! Jacob has Mrs. Young and Logan has Mrs. Rathburn. I hope that you pray over your children that their teacher really help mold them and have a heart for God! I hope you all got the teachers you wanted also!
Psalm 118:1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Monday, August 4 – Rainy Day
We decided that we’d get our school supplies in order today and put in each backpack. This is always such an exciting time. As a child I always remember how fun it was to get new pencils, scissors, crayons. I did have to have a discussion with Jacob about not breaking all his crayons like he did last year. crazy boy! All is packed and ready to go. I cant believe how much stuff they need. Logan wears such big shoes now that they wont fit into his backpack! Tomorrow we go to sign up for school!
Today was a nice “down day”. I got caught up on my laundry, got dishes done and actually took a quick nap. Havent done that in a LOOONG time. We also watched the “Spiderwick Chronicles”. It was actually a really good movie. Logan loved it but Jacob got a little scared and had to go upstairs and watch cartoons.
Hope you all had a good day too!
