we hope everyone has had a special birthday party for Jesus today! we spent the night googling to see how old Jesus really would be. the answer……. 2007 yrs old. according to this website. i am sure the scholars will argue differently but this is the answer we’ve found. it’s very confusing though!
Read what our Christmas Day was like here on my hubby’s blog. also, thank you awesome hubby for the bestest present ever! he got me a new bible (pink) as he saw how my old one was coming unglued at the seams. most of the new testament was coming out! this was my most favorite possession (as it was pink and i have had it since i gradutated high school) and i hated to think of replacing it. my hub found the perfect replacement and it even has journaling capabilites along the side. he knows how much i love to write in my bible (highlight, underline, write things for my boys to find someday). so now i can spend my down time preparing my new bible for the next few decades of life!
thanks thrown_hammer & smoochies to you for all you do for our fam!
Here are some pics of our ice stom we had yesterday. the boys got a day off school and many lost power. i had my truck parked outside and it was totally frozen shut. i had to wait until later in the afternoon to let some of the ice melt off to scrape it off. the ice on the trees is very pretty but sure scary when the wind blows. it sounds like the trees are going to topple over. our neighbors have lots of branches that came down.

Need a christmas gift for you main-man? well, this cologne is called “Flame” and is the scent of seduction with a hint of flame-broilled meat. wow- it’s only $3.99 but this website selling it is sold out! You can go here and read an article about it. maybe we will have to wait until valentine’s day to get some!
did you know burger king came out with a new cologne called “Flame”? check it out on my next post!
this brings back good memories. i loved watching this show.
I love Charlie Brown!
I love this scene!

Our sermon was on “Christmas with the Kranks” today and i thought it fitting to share w/you what i learned….it was cute! (If you havent seen the movie go here and watch the preview and watch w/your family.)
The things i learned today and that i need to remember this season are: 1) it’s better to give than receive; 2) KISS (keep it simple, stupid); and 3) if everyone’s attitude around you stinks, stop and smell yourself first.
kinda silly but all very true!
Now that gas is down to a reasonable price we can all take a drive around town to “shake the stink off” or now that it’s christmas to drive around to see the christmas lights w/the radio blasting christmas carols. I know i am getting old when i make my kids do this. i remember when i was little how boring it was to drive around w/my parents to look at the lights! I really have to say that our town does a fabulous job of having small town christmas spirit w/all the lights they put up! our annual trek has become driving through central park to “ooh” and “aah” at the spectacle of lights there and to order hot chocolate for $.75 from the little camper parked there. it is really good hot chocolate and all the proceeds go to paying for the display too! from the park we proceed down to the house behind grace college where their light display is synchronized to their own music. it is wonderful! jacob asked if we were going back there again this year….i couldnt believe he remembered about it. he was really excited to see it! haha. i guess they arent open quite yet as their display wasnt playing so we will try again next week. here are some fun pics of the light display at the park…..
